Over three years in the making at 1 hour and 22 minutes, episode one of season 3 was one of the most ambitious we’ve ever filmed with 16 separate shoots capturing the evolution of Haunted Overload in Lee, New Hampshire.

Filming deep in the woods, often at night, through rain, mud, and even snow, pushed every technical boundary imaginable for an indie filmmaker. Lighting a forest for cinematic storytelling while preserving the atmosphere of darkness and mystery was one of the biggest challenges.

The result is a fascinating Halloween documentary and the story of Eric Lowther whose love of Halloween grew into a lifelong obsession. What began as a homemade yard haunt became so massive that his town shut it down, forcing him to go professional. Today, his world-renowned attraction has raised nearly a million dollars for animal charities, all born from a love of art, craftsmanship and the thrill of the scare.

🎉 Approaching 1.5 Million Views for Our Season 2 Trailer! 🎉

The latest Spooky Kisses Haunts (SKH) Season 2 trailer, released in December, is quickly approaching 1.5 million views on Facebook. Notably, 80% of these views come organically through shares, without relying on paid advertisements. This milestone highlights the trailer’s wide appeal and the strong support from the haunt community.

Over the past three years, the SKH team has conducted on-camera interviews with more than 1,000 individuals in the haunt industry, capturing stories that showcase the passion and creativity behind haunting. The series continues to grow, inspired by the contributions and feedback of those involved in the community.

In February, the series will take an important step forward as the team meets with representatives from major broadcast networks, including Warner Bros., Discovery, A+E, and others. While no deals are guaranteed, these discussions represent a significant opportunity to transition the series from an independent project to a broader, mainstream platform.

This year also marked an exciting milestone during our release phase on Amazon TVOD, where we celebrated the windowed launch of Season 1 (8 episodes) on Tubi. This helped us gain significant momentum and reach new viewers, further cementing the show’s appeal. While platforms like Tubi and Amazon have been instrumental in building our audience, our ultimate goal has always been to partner with a network that truly understands our brand and vision. We are committed to bringing Spooky Kisses Haunts to mainstream broadcast audiences, showcasing the haunted attraction industry in a way that resonates far and wide.

On the technical side, we’ve refined our filming methods with updated cameras and a streamlined post-production process. From capture to delivery, we maintain all video assets as UHD lossless 4:2:2 chroma subsampling at 10-bit color depth. Video assets are edited in Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, with final sound mastering in Avid Pro Tools and iZotope RX. With fast in-house connected RAID10 storage, we can efficiently handle large-scale 300TB+ multi-season projects, ensuring high-speed data access and a seamless workflow from start to finish.

These adjustments are carefully crafted to complement, not detract from, what fans already love about Spooky Kisses Haunts. Our mission remains steadfast: to place this show at the pinnacle of unscripted television while shining a spotlight on the haunted attraction industry in a way that’s never been done before. With the momentum from Seasons 1 and 2, the new exposure gained from Tubi, and the enhancements coming in Season 3, we are more confident than ever in our ability to represent this incredible community and captivate audiences around the world.

Unfortunately, these episodes will not be part of Season 2. We sincerely apologize to the owners, staff, and actors of these haunts, as we had to make some tough decisions and ultimately prioritized the filming order—first filmed, first to be edited.

Rest assured, these episodes will definitely be featured in Season 3. The good news is that our reach is projected to double or even triple by 2025 at our current growth rate, even as an independent production. Our goal has always been to expand the show’s audience alongside a platform that can elevate its reach and viewership into the millions, and we are working hard to make that a reality.
